About Me

If you're here, something probably isn't clicking the way you hoped it would.

Walks feel more like something to get through than something to enjoy. There might be pulling, reactivity, or that constant low-level tension that builds the second another dog appears around the corner. You’ve probably tried a few things already. And you’re probably here because none of them stuck. That’s not a reflection on you or your dog. It’s a reflection on the approach. And it’s exactly the kind of thing that’s fixable.

I've been working with dogs for over four years, hands-on, across every breed and behaviour you can imagine.

It started in Mondio Ring, working as a decoy. That world taught me more about how dogs actually think than anything else I’ve come across. Working dogs under pressure, reading them in real time, understanding how clear communication changes behaviour instantly. It was the best education I could have had. When I started applying that understanding to pet dogs, the difference was obvious. The same patterns kept coming up, reactivity, lead pulling, lack of focus, and once they were addressed properly, things changed quickly. Not after months of slow progress. Quickly. Because the approach actually made sense to the dog. I’ve now worked hands-on with well over a thousand dogs. The results are consistent because the method is consistent.

Can’t wait to hear from you!

Most training advice doesn't translate into real life. That's the problem.

What I learned through Mondio Ring is that dogs don’t need complicated techniques. They need clarity. Consistency. A handler who knows what they’re communicating and why. When training is built around that, it works. When it isn’t, owners go home confused and dogs go back to doing exactly what they were doing before. My approach is simple by design. When we work together, it won’t feel like a formal training session. Most of the time it feels like you’re just out walking your dog. That’s intentional. Because that’s where real behaviour change happens, in the everyday moments, not in controlled drills. Everything I do is calm, clear, and straightforward. You’ll always know what you’re doing and why you’re doing it. There’s no jargon, no confusion, and no homework you’re not sure how to apply.

If your dog is with me on a residential placement, they live in my home.

Not in a kennel. With me, as part of the family, treated the way I’d want my own dog treated. Structure, consistency, and proper care throughout. You get regular updates, you can see the progress as it happens, and when you collect them, the difference is immediate. If we’re working together in person, you’re involved from the very first session. A big part of what I do is helping owners understand their dog, not just fixing the dog for them. By the end of the programme, you’ll be confident handling situations yourself. You won’t need to call me every time something comes up, because you’ll understand why it’s happening and what to do about it.

I work with all dogs. Any breed, any size, any problem.

But the owners who get the best results are the ones who genuinely want more for their dog. The ones who are willing to show up, enjoy the process, and commit to doing things consistently. If that’s you, this will work. I don’t write dogs off as untrainable. I haven’t come across one yet. But I do hold a high standard, for the dog and for the owner. I expect effort and consistency, because that’s what creates real, lasting change. Not quick fixes that fall apart after a week.

The dog's wellbeing always comes first. That's not a line. It's how every decision gets made.

I never compromise on safety, I don’t cut corners, and I don’t tell people what they want to hear if it isn’t true. A calm, clear, comfortable dog is always the goal, because that’s the only version of this that actually lasts. If this sounds like the kind of approach you’ve been looking for, the next step is simple. Have a look at the services and see what fits. And if you’re not sure, just reach out. A conversation costs nothing and usually answers everything.

A quick call with Sam is the easiest way to work out what your dog needs and which programme makes the most sense. No pressure, no obligation, just a straight conversation about your situation.
